Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana

Launched 15 February 2024 by PM Modi and MNRE to expand rooftop solar on residential buildings

Ambitious target: install solar capacity on 1 crore homes by March 2027; budget outlay of ₹75,021 crore

Up to 300 units of "free" solar electricity per month for eligible households
